At Athens State, we understand it isn’t how you began your education that matters. It’s how you finish. And a strong finish is only the beginning.

Finish your degree and get a quality education at a fraction of the cost of most other universities. Athens State is the most affordable of all public, state schools in both Alabama and Tennessee. So if you have college credit and wish to complete your education, if you’re a current student who wishes to transfer, or if you wish to pursue graduate studies to advance your career, we’re here to guide you through every step of the admission process.

Because we’re an upper-division university, you should have at least 36 hours of transfer credit to enroll at Athens State as an undergraduate student.

Financial Aid and Scholarships for Transfer Students

Financial aid and scholarships can make a degree from Athens State even more attainable. The goal is that you finish and move confidently into the future without being burdened by heavy debt. To do so, we award on average more than $1 million in scholarships each year. And along with our scholarship offerings, we’ve made navigating the financial aid process much easier with personalized enrollment advisors and our Transfer Guide and Process.
